Honestly very disappointed. My fiancés meal was egg bacon and sausage meal was incomplete (no sauasage) and so little food for over 6 dollars. My panini was cold and very dry, and the macaroons we got were almost inedibly sweet. I had high hopes but I guess that's what I get.
You come for the desserts. Or at least I do. They are first rate. Never had much luck with their food. But do come for their sweets. Your taste buds will thank you.
Tasty
It's not a french bakery and it's not owned by French people. They sell some European sweets and foods cooked in a American way. Macaroons are expensive and no tasty.
Friendly, helpful service, relaxing atmosphere, clean tables, and excellent food.
Babettes us a halfway point on my weekend walk with Prince Harry. We sit on the patio where dogs are welcome! The crew are sweet and hardworking. The food is excellent even though I don't eat carbs. A fun place to sit and people watch or chat with your neighbors
Boo
Amazing baked goods
I hade a nice meal here I liked it
I just moved to Long Beach and decided to check this place out for breakfast one morning. My husband got the chicken and mushroom crepe and I got the Alaskan crepe. Both were fantastic for different reasons. The Alaskan was much more of a breakfast style crepe. It had smoked salmon and herbs on the outside and scrambled eggs and cheese on the inside. It wasn't heavy for the amount you got and it had nice flavor. The chicken and mushroom crepe was heavy and creamy. Its hard to describe beyond that. Let's just say, you know it's not healthy, but you're perfectly fine with it. :) We have since gone back and ordered other various dished with the same satisfaction. The best thing here are their macaroons. They have 10 or so flavors and they are as delicious as they are beautiful. I highly recommend getting one as a nice treat or buy a dozen so you can experience them all. I have only tried a few and I have yet to be disappointed.
Always good food and pastries! They've been there for decades in Belmont Shore
Love their breakfast sandwiches yum!
Great Salmon omelette! Relaxing with my lovely wife, Aida.
Horrible service. The gentleman at the counter actually yelled at us. This place used to be good. They are not really clean either. Wouldn't recommend this place.
It's always been a favorite location of mine. People are friendly and the food is great!
Great place for lunch on the run
Excellent place to eat, exstreamly fresh food and pastries. :)
A great respite while shopping.
The desserts are delicious
A great little shop for donuts shop, bakery items, food and drink. The servers were very polite and helpful. I found it a great place to interact (meet people). You can enjoy your order inside or on the patio. Also, the Beach is only three short blocks. There is a nice Flower Stand in the front Fountain area.. on gorgeous 2nd St of Belmont Shore; a Great area to visit. 2nd St has a whole lot to offer; dozens of cool restaurants, shops, boutiques, cafes, coffee shops... much, much more. The owner of Babette's is very gracious. She offers a very professional service!cmilton111Google Guide3.2018
Love this place...viva la France..Yummy petite desserts...delectable vegetable torte to die for. Array of yummy tarts. Go here quite often. A lil bit of everything
Loves this place! Soo heartbroken that its closed after all these years! We will miss you!
Amazing spot.
No longer serving quiche - wt_?
Mmmm cookies
Amazing
We live in San Diego, but each time we go to Long Beach we always go to Babette's for their macarons. My daughter LOVES them! She says they are the best she's ever had. This visit, I bought something for myself. I bought their chocolate-dipped biscotti. Yummy! That biscotti was slightly soft and slightly moist and can easily be eaten without coffee. My husband tried it and said it tasted almost like the Norwegian Kransekake (wedding cake), but slightly moister. Amazing!
Very tasty, very nice place for relaxing and eating.
Great quick breakfast! I recommend the chicken sausage breakfast wrap or the lox bagel.
Good food,good srvc.,price,is ok,plenty of parking
Love the macarons and the quiche
Red velvet cake was delicious
Kinda overpriced for a breakfast sandwich, but you pay Beach prices for Beach front property. The breakfast sandwiches was good though and the staff was nice, but then again I was there on a Thursday morning. Not busy at all. It was ok. Definitely not terrible and will do in a pinch since there really wasn't any other breakfast spot or deli in Bayshore where a New Yorker like myself can get a breakfast sandwich and coffee for $5... Yes, that actually is a thing. Stop overpaying for stuff, LA.
I loooooove the macaroons here!!!
Always a delight. Good food variety. Service ok. French lady very nice.
Not really a French bakery. More of a hodgepodge American bakery and deli. Still: it has legitimately good bagels, maybe the second best I've found anywhere in Long Beach.
Love this place. Yummy pastries.
awesome chocolate chip cookies
My wife and I ordered a spinach crepe and a Greek salad. The Greek salad was OK, but a few hours later I had the runs. The spinach crepe was awful. I don't think it could have been freshly made, and my wife said she saw them rolled up in the display case waiting to be heated up. The crepe was covered in what looked like melted cheese, but it tasted doughy. We decided that it must have been some attempt at a bechamel sauce, but definitely not a very good one.The name of the place seems promising and the setting is nice, but the food was not good.
Good coffee
Staff is very friendly. Coffee made fresh about 6 different kinds. Pastries are made fresh daily and are delicious. Cute atmosphere with tables inside and outside. Prices are on high side. Great location right off 2nd street in Belmont Shore.
Terrific Breakfasts
Love this place! Great selection of treats and awesome staff! I go here every Sunday morning and have never had a bad experience!
On weekdays during the day, it's easy to get outdoor seating. Much more difficult, crowded on the weekend. Note that tables and umbrellas are immobile, bolted down.
Not nearly as good as it was even a couple of years ago. No more French baked goods. Cheaper, low quality ingredients. Salads are terrible. Sandwiches and bakery items are still good, except oatmeal raisin cookies bland. Servers are very friendly and the facilities are very clean.
